"South Coast History"
Community education class!
Registration for Steve Greif's "South Coast History" community education class began Monday, November 21st. The last two years the class filled up quickly so it is suggested you register as soon as you can to reserve a space! You can register online by going to www.socc.edu and clicking on the education tab. But many may feel more comfortable registering in person on the SWOCC campus. Go to the First Stop Center (Dellwood Hall). The First Stop Center is open from 7 am to 6 pm Monday thru Friday.
The class is described on page 19 of the recently mailed SWOCC winter term catalog. It is "HST 0213 - 65, History of Oregon's South Coast". The class will meet at the Coos History Museum each Thursday evening of winter term from 6:30 pm to 8:00 starting January 5, 2017. The fee you will pay SWOCC for the 11-week course is $60 (most of which will be donated to the museum). There is no required textbook but Greif will recommend students have a copy of Nathan Douthit, A Guide to South Coast History: Traveling the Jedediah Smith Trail (1999) which can be purchased at the Coos History Museum. Since this is a Community Education course, there are no tests, homework, or college credit.
If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to email Steve - email@example.com.
