Each spring our 4th grade program focuses on the history and continuing traditions of our local tribes: The Coquille Indian Tribe and The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians. The program, developed and delivered in partnership with the tribes introduces students to the first people of our area, with an emphasis on our tribes being a contemporary and active part of our communities today. The museum visit uses the collections and staff expertise, to illuminate local history of the first inhabitants of our area.
