Join us at the Coos History Museum with Mtizi Loftus as she shares with us her family’s journey from Japan to Oregon. Starting in 1880, learn about the HIStory of her father followed by the HERstory of her mother beginning in 1892 and their experience as immigrants. Then, Mitizi’s MYstory will give us a look into the her childhood, growing up in Oregon all the way from her birth in 1932 to the present and everything in between. Discover what living in Oregon, including Hood River and Coos Bay was like for Mitizi as she earned an education, made a career as a teacher, became a wife and mother, and participated as an active volunteer in her community and the wider world becoming a lifelong traveler.

*Membership status and attendance in person/online will be verified. Once you have completed registration you will be sent a confirmation email with the Zoom link. The museum is limited to 40 participants in-person so please pre-register as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly.
