Juneteenth Food Demonstration with Chef Jardin Kazaar from Black Market Gourmet and Jamar Ruff from Coos Head Food Co-Op
Program Description: Join Jardin and Jamar at the CHM in the Sprague Gallery from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for a demonstration centered around the Jemima Code and a walk through the African American contribution to American society and cuisine. This event will provide a demonstration, including some history and education, and samples for up to 50 people. Jamar will also provide book marks that highlight the books “The Jemima Code”, “Africa’s Gift to America”, and more as well as recipe cards originally created for the 2021 Juneteenth Celebration event featuring recipes for Red Velvet Cake, Collard Greens, BBQ Ribs, and Hibiscus Tea. Copies of these recipe cards can also be found below.
