Juneteenth Opening Ceremony 

Join us at the CHM on the plaza for a brief opening ceremony to formally usher in Juneteenth on June 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM. The ceremony will include: A Welcome Statement provided by CHM Executive Director, Marcia Hart; a Letter Reading written by Taylor Stewart, Oregon Remembrance Project and read by Museum Staff; Excerpt Reading from the Book, “On Juneteenth” written by Annette Gordon-Reed and read by Annis Cassells; and Unveiling of the Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration 2021 Word Cloud Banner presented by Museum Staff and Juneteenth Celebration Committee.
