High-performing volunteer Boards are vital to the successful governance of a not-for-profit organization. Few people, though, receive trainingo n the roles and responsibilities of a Board. This can lead to frustration, lack of engagement, and burn-out. The most effective Boards operate at the strategic level, setting direction for their organization with full understanding of their fiduciary duties and corporate responsibilities. In this session, participants will learn:
- The role differences between Boards, committees, and staff
- A Board member’s fiduciary liabilities
- Insight into the proper use of this most valuable asset – the volunteer Board member.
