The Visit with Madi Cristina Barrena and Michael Somers
Performance Description: Oregon Coast Music Association (OCMA) is sponsoring an additional event at Juneteenth “The Visit” featuring local artists Madi Cristina Barrena, piano, and Michael Somers, double bass. The duo have planned an interactive performance featuring music of American composers and artists with substantial influence on the development of jazz and American popular music. They will play selections from Scott Joplin, African-American pianist and ragtime composer; George Gershwin, American pianist and composer; Cole Porter, American pianist/composer/songwriter; and Duke Ellington, African-American pianist/composer/bandleader & skilled jazz musician.
