Connect with your environment and Oregon Native American history while learning to process tule to create a traditional Willamette Valley Indian mat. Students will learn how to traditionally process the materials, and go home with a finished mat.
This class will be taught be Stephanie Craig, who is the owner of Kalapuya Weaving. She teaches classes to public and private venues, works with non-tribal and tribal museums on artifact conservation, producing museum quality basketry replicas and teaches cultural education.
Cost for this class will be $80. Preregistration can be done over the phone or in person at the museum.
