Dead Birds on Hats: How Birds and Fashion Changed the Law

Saturday, April 18 | 6-7 PM Stay after the opening of Feathers in Flight for a special talk with CHM Educator Sire Battle. Sire will explore the surprising connection between birds, fashion, and conservation—how the feather fashion craze helped spark the founding of the Audubon Society, led to the creation of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and continues to shape bird protection today. This talk also marks Sire’s final program at CHM after three wonderful years here. Join us for this fun farewell talk on one of her favorite topics and help send her off as she spreads her wings and flies east to her next adventure in Florida.
