Volunteer at Coos History Museum
Behind the scenes at the museum is a beehive of activity. Volunteers energize every aspect of operations in many different capacities.
All volunteers must complete a mandatory background check prior to volunteering.
Submit an online CHM volunteer application or pick up one the next time you visit the museum.
Front Desk Attendant: Currently Recruiting
3.5 hr per week commitment; Tuesday through Saturday during open hours
Volunteers assist with reception, administrative, and customer service tasks such as processing museum admissions, memberships, program registration, and providing visitors with information. Volunteers also help with general upkeep of the museum’s public spaces and the store, and assist customers with purchases. Previous customer service and retail experience preferred.
Gallery Attendant/ Docent: Currently Recruiting
3.5 hr per week commitment; Tuesday through Saturday during open hours Volunteers give short tours, manage activity stations, and maintain a presence in the gallery spaces during open hours.
